JN Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship 2024-25 is very helpful for students as it was  founded by the visionary Jamsetji Nusserwanjee Tata in 1892, the JN Tata Endowment has been a cornerstone in fostering academic excellence by providing loan scholarships to Indian students for pursuing higher education abroad. Annually, the program selects between 90 to 100 scholars from diverse fields such as sciences, management, law, commerce, and fine arts to support their studies overseas.

Eligibility Criteria

Indian nationals under the age of 45 as of June 30, 2024, holding a graduate degree from a recognized Indian university with a minimum average of 60% in their last academic qualification, are eligible. This scholarship is not open to students whose undergraduate degree is from a non-recognized institution in India or those seeking to attend seminars, conferences, or distance learning programs abroad. The program is intended for courses recognized as postgraduate degrees.

Candidates who have previously applied for the scholarship and were not selected or were unable to utilize the scholarship can reapply. This opportunity is also available to students currently enrolled in postgraduate programs abroad, provided they have at least one full academic year remaining. Applicants in their final year or awaiting results, without current admission offers, can also apply but must update their application status upon receiving admission.

Recipients of the J N Tata scholarship who have repaid their loan in full are welcome to reapply. However, candidates aiming for short courses, undergraduate studies, or distance learning programs, as well as those planning to study in India, are not eligible.

Scholarship Benefits

Selected scholars will receive a loan scholarship of up to INR 10 lakh.

Phase 1: Application Submission by March 15, 2024

Applicants must provide a photo, Aadhaar card, passport, academic transcripts, Statement of Purpose (SoP), work experience certificates, appointment letters, and financial documents.

Phase 2: Online Test

No additional documents required.

Phase 3: Interview with Subject Expert

Documents needed include a university admission letter, a recommendation letter addressed to the JN Tata Endowment trustees, academic records, standardized test scores, and evidence of co-curricular achievements, among others.

Phase 4: Final Selection

Candidates must submit their PAN card, a cancelled cheque or bank statement, and the guarantor’s financial and identification documents.

All documents should be uploaded in grayscale PDF format, clearly named to reflect their content.

Who is eligible to apply?

Eligible applicants include those engaged in full-time postgraduate studies abroad. The criteria for eligibility are as follows:
Must be an Indian citizen.
Must be under 45 years old as of June 30, 2024.
Must have graduated from a recognized university in India.
Must have achieved a minimum average score of 60% in both undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
Must be admitted to a program recognized as a postgraduate course (in Indian terms), where the prerequisite is an undergraduate degree.
Students already studying abroad who meet the above criteria may apply if they have at least one full academic year left in their program as of July in any given year.
Former J N Tata scholars are eligible if they have repaid their loan scholarship in full.

Who is not eligible to apply?

The following candidates are ineligible:
Those attending seminars, conferences, training, workshops, presenting papers, undertaking undergraduate studies, or pursuing distance learning or online postgraduate courses.
Individuals planning to pursue both postgraduate and undergraduate studies within India.
Candidates seeking to enroll in a one-year diploma program with an entry requirement of a higher secondary education level.

How can I apply?

The application process for the Loan Scholarships is as follows:
Applications are accepted from January 11 to March 15, 2024, exclusively on the website www.jntataendowment.org.
Applicants must create a unique login ID and password using their email ID.
The application form is to be completed online; it is not downloadable. It can be filled out in one or multiple sessions, but be sure to save drafts before exiting.
Applicants must validate their application form before the final submission. After validation, no changes can be made.
